Patient of the Month

Our May Patient of the Month is Jenny !

I came to Dr. Gibson because I was suffering from severe low back pain that had progressively worsened until I couldn’t do simple household chores or even walk the dogs.

Thanks to Dr. Gibson, I am finally pain free!  She discovered that I was suffering from adrenal fatigue.  Through a combination of chiropractic adjustments and supplements and diet changes specific to adrenal gland support, she has completely turned my life around. Not only has the back pain disappeared, but I also have so much more energy! My chores are finished in half the time and I can enjoy exercising again.  My dogs are especially pleased with my recovery as I take them on long walks now.  We can even go hiking now that I am not dependent on the relief of a park bench every few minutes.

Dr. D. Jean Gibson

Dr. GibsonDr. Jean Gibson, M.S., D.C., received her bachelor's degree from SMU in Dallas, and her master's degree specializing in exercise physiology from North Texas State University in Denton, TX. She taught school at both the junior high and college level, until a ruptured disc in her back in 1988 changed the course of her life and career goals.

A neurosurgeon recommended back surgery but Dr. Gibson didn't want to have such an invasive procedure. She tried an alternative - Chiropractic. She fully recovered with no limitations, so she returned to school, earning a B.S. in anatomy and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker College in Dallas.  She also received certification in Acupuncture.

Dr. Gibson moved to Fayetteville in 1993 and opened Gibson Chiropractic, offering Chiropractic care and Acupuncture.  She then added Colon Hydrotherapy to her practice in 2002, as a way to help her patients with detoxification. Colonics cleanse the colon by removing toxic material, which in turn improves the assimilation of nutrients.

In 2010 Dr. Gibson was trained in the use of Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy (NSRT) by BioVeda Technologies. In 2011, she was certified in the use of the  Koren Specific Technique (KST) by Dr. Tedd Koren.

Cynthia Miller, Licensed Massage Therapist

During her twenty years in the corporate world Cynthia longed to persue the therapeutic art of massage. She altered her path in 2007 and after practicing in Dallas she relocated to Fayetteville to enjoy the beauty and pace of Northwestern Arkansas. She is skillful in the arts of Swedish, Hot Stone and pregnancy massage as well as Myofascial / Trigger Point Therapy. Her ardent belief in the benefits of massage therapy is evident in her passion for its practice, her unique touch and special connection with her clients. Cynthia was the 2009 Northwest Arkansas Times Massage Therapist of the Year. Cynthia feels in addition to the healing benefits of massage, it also makes for a more peaceful world and she looks forward to the opportunity to make your world a little more peaceful.

Kim Lowrey, I-ACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapist

Kim Lowrey, our Colon Hydrotherapist, has a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Arkansas.  She received her training as a Colon Hydrotherapist at the Michigan Colon Hydrotherapy Institute, and has her Level III Advanced Certification from the International Association for Colon HydroTheray (I-ACT). Colon Hydrotherapy Center was opened in 2003 and serves patients from not only Northwest Arkansas,  but from the River Valley as well.

Lisa McClure, Office Manager/ Chiropractic Assistant

During her 16 years as a social worker, Lisa became well aquainted with the damage constant stress can do to the human body. When her back and neck pain became unbearable, a co-worker suggested she see Dr. Jean.  Lisa had grown up going to chiropractors, but after becoming a patient found that Dr. Jean wasn't like her childhood chiropractor - she was interested in helping the whole person, not just treating symptoms.

Lisa left the field of social work and in 2005 brought her helping skills to the Allergy and Stress Relief Center as the office manager and Dr. Jean's assistant.  Then in 2010, she was trained in the use of Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy (NSRT) by BioVeda Technologies. She is able to use her experience in the helping profession to help others be the best they can be.
